Why I'm Building Calmly
As a software engineer, I’ve experienced the intense pressure of tight deadlines, the frustration of feeling stuck, and the emotional drain that comes from juggling constant demands. One moment I’d be energised and in the zone, and the next I’d be completely burnt out. It was hard to understand why, and even harder to find a solution that didn’t involve just pushing through.
I hit a point where the burnout became too much. I remember one specific week where I couldn’t shake this overwhelming feeling of exhaustion, even though I wasn’t working any harder than usual. I started questioning whether I was even in the right career. That’s when I realised: I wasn’t managing my emotions - I was being controlled by them.
I built Calmly because emotional self-awareness has been my key to breaking free from this cycle. Understanding my emotional triggers allowed me to approach my work with more focus, clarity, and resilience. I want other engineers to experience that same relief - to stay connected to their passion for coding without letting stress take over.
